MOUNT KENYA NATIONAL PARK

Known as the mountain of God by its inhabitant foothills, it is the only place in world where snow is found at the equator, Africa’s second largest and Kenya’s highest peak Batian (5199) with a variety of habitat like alpine zone, bamboo forest, giant groundsel and snowfields.

Its home to wide variety of animals and birdlife species.

The Big five,Generuks ,beisa Oryx, Reticulated giraffe, lesser kudu, giant forest hogs, Also the high altitude adapt some of unique bird can be found here; Mackinders eagle owl,Alpines swifts and scarlet tufted malachite sunbird
