NGORONGORO
CONSERVATION AREA ( CRATER)
Situated
190 Km west of Arusha and it’s between Serengeti national
Park and Lake Manyara.
This park is protected area by the Unesco as world heritage site
and an international biosphere reserves Ngorongoro was a mountain
whose peak was almost high like Kilimanjaro 2 million years ago
that collapsed beneath forming s crater which the worlds largest
and flooded caldera in the world today lies.
It’s
approximately cover’s 8288 km sq. This conservation also
consist of the Oldonyo Lengai Mountains empakani crater and Olduvai
gorge where doctor Louise Leakey discovered the remains of homo
habilis regarded as mankind first step on the human evolution
theory .
The
conservation is carpeted plain, Animals including herbivores and
a large population of predictors. The conservation is also shared
by Maasai people who are other main residents of Ngorongoro.
The
altitude at the crater ring about 2286 m above sea level.
