SERENGETI
NATIONAL PARK
More
than six million pound the legendary Serengeti, whose very name
means “endless plains”, also known as one of the best
wildlife sanctuary in the world.
Each year, more than a million wildebeest, zebras
and gazelles, gather together to undertake a long expedition to
new grazing lands, followed by predators as 40 km long columns
pass through crocodile infested waters on the annual migration
to Maasai Mara game reserve. Wildebeest are well known of producing
3000 calves a day before the 1000 kilometer trek begins again.
Serengeti is well renowned of its huge number
of leopards and lions. The vast of the park help black rhino to
fight extinction and provide protected breeding grounds for the
vulnerable cheetah, alongside the park's thousands of other diverse
species, from 500 varieties of birds to 100 different types of
dung beetle.
